Dan started fishing when he was a kid at his grandpa’s farm pond just a short bike ride down the road.  There were a few ponds in the area that he used to ride to and spend some time fishing.   Later, his Dad bought a small row boat they would take to the Norwalk Reservoir.  His Dad would row Dan and his brother around all morning trying to catch a fish, a few were caught but not many.  When Dan got older a friend would take him to Lake Erie to cast for walleyes.  He enjoys being in the outdoors whether fishing, hunting or taking walks with his girls.

In 1992 Dan went to work for Ford Motor Co. at their parts plant in Sandusky, Ohio.  A year later he married Jill and moved to the Huron, Ohio area, a little closer to Lake Erie.  Dan's daughters, Lisa and Taylor, like to go on boat rides.  Not just to catch fish but to go fast and have the wind blow through their hair.

Dan is the VP of the Western Basin Sportfishing Association and enjoys participating in the club's activities.  This includes helping run the Lake Erie Walleye Trail, club fish frys and going to club meetings.  Dan is also active in helping out with kid events like the NPAA kids seminars, Outreach Walleye Club and helping anyone he can with fishing questions.
